About Atlas

Atlas Theatre's mission is to provide accessible, quality theatre experiences for all in and around Oklahoma.

Atlas Theatre Company was founded in 2020 by Meghan Hurley and Rick Harrelson with the goal of providing theatrical productions in a new and exciting way that meets the requirements of the digital age.

Why Now?

Atlas Theatre was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic as a means to continue to produce quality theatrical productions for our community. Zoom performances don’t work because people miss the visual storytelling of live theatre. Atlas brings you live theatre with stunning sets, elaborate costumes, rich light and sound designs…all of the elements you love about theatre…wherever and whenever you want it!

While theatre was on a forced hiatus, we started to examine some of the other major problems facing theatres around the world. Theatres were not meeting the needs of our evolving world. In this digital age, theatre audience attendance was declining largely due to in-person only options, limited runs, and high ticket prices. The traditional theatre experience was already suffering before COVID-19. Now, its continued existence is at stake.

Atlas Theatre offers solutions to these problems by streaming quality theatrical productions for less money over longer periods of time.

Why Virtual?
  • The cost is much less than in-person
  • You can watch from anywhere on any smart device.
  • You can watch anytime you want.
  • You don’t need a babysitter.
  • You don’t need a friend to go with you.
  • You can watch in your pajamas!
  • No risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other illnesses
